The two-day event was attended by 118 taekwondo practitioners within 20 teams from Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Russia, Iraq, Luxemburg, Syria, Seychelles, Oman, Greece, Azerbaijan, India and Armenia.
The host city team, Shahrdari Sari, collected six gold and one bronze to stand on top of the podium overall with a total of 84 points. Another Iranian outfit finished vice-champion with one gold, two silver and one bronze bagging a total of 41 points. Meanwhile, an Afghan taekwondo team landed third with one silver and one bronze giving a total of 23 points.
Armenia and Iraq occupied fourth and fifth positions in the final ranking with 22 and 20 points, respectively.
The international tournament was competed in eight weight categories in seven of which Iranian representatives found their ways to the final debut and clinched gold medals. It was only at -87kg weight division that the Iranian fighter conceded a defeat against his Armenian rival and missed the title.
